Cancer in the fire service is complicated, and the more we learn, the more we realize how much we still need to understand. This week’s Friday Truth looks at why there is value in bringing together the research, the people doing the work, and the information that can help firefighters make sense of a difficult subject. We may not have every answer, but we can keep asking questions, learning from the science, and making what we know understandable enough to put into action.
Our exposures may be worse than I originally thought, and that puts even more importance and ownership on prioritizing decon measures and limiting overall exposure whenever possible.
