After a tough training session, your body deserves a solid cooldown. The Arm Thread stretch is an easy and effective way to release tension in your shoulders, upper back, and spine. This is a perfect move after an upper-body workout, or even after you’ve been carrying gear, swinging an axe, or just had a demanding day.
Arm Thread Instructions
- Begin on all fours and sit back on your heels
- Brace one arm at 90 degrees and reach under with the opposite arm
- Pull slightly with the extended arm to create contraction as you inhale
- Relax as you exhale deeper into the stretch
- Repeat this contract-and-relax pattern for 30 seconds
- Find your end range and breathe deeply in and out as you relax into this position for another 30 seconds
